Reviews:
“This book was perfectly adorable! As a parent--it is sometimes easy to forget how easy it is to incorporate our humdrum, everyday world into a fun, interactive, educational lesson for our children. In this case, the artists introduce the concept of counting to five as they create a breakfast themed face on a slice of toast. I know that my girls would have created faces with their breakfast every morning had we had this book when they were younger!” - A Mama’s Corner of the World
“Toast to Counting by Sandra Gross and Leah Bush is a happy and deliciously clever little board book that introduces babies to counting, cooking and friendship all at the same time. The toast, eggs, butter and jelly in the photographs are made of glass and have a tactile appeal. 1 year and up.” - Karen Young, My Daily Find, San Fernando, CA
“As I read this book to Joshua [my ten month old] he giggled, and flipped the pages back to the beginning to read it again and again. He really enjoyed seeing the piece of toast come to life!” - Meredith Ball, BellaOnline
“Toast to Counting, by artists Sandra Gross and Leah Busch, is the inaugural book in Blue Manatee’s new Toast to Baby series. Using pictures of handmade Bullseye cast glass, counting of delicious elements takes place while a toast face is constructed. Most of the book is without text, allowing the parent and child to wonder what is being created… I read this book with my six-year-old and we agreed it would make a great gift for her baby cousin.” - Elizabeth Gerold-Miller, Examiner.com

About the Artists:
Sandra Gross and Leah Busch have worked together for over fifteen years as artists, friends, and educators. They have formed a collective—Factory15—which specializes in modern-whimsical handmade glass products. Besides over 300 pieces of cast glass toast, they have created plates, cake stands, and chandeliers rich in pattern and color. When Busch and Gross are not creating glass art, you can find them teaching among the bees and butterflies at Brazee Street Studios.
